Per-device history retention (keep a full synced history, but limit local storage on iPhone)

I use Paste across Mac and iPhone with iCloud sync and keep my history for six months because I want one complete, searchable clipboard history. The problem is that each device stores the full synced history locally, and the iPhone has no Keep History setting. On a 64 GB iPhone, Paste has grown past 1.7 GB, and it keeps triggering storage-full warnings.

Request: let each device set its own local retention, or keep only recent items locally on iPhone and iPad and fetch older items from iCloud on demand. The full history would stay intact on the Mac and in iCloud, while the phone holds only, say, the last week.

This would keep a single history across devices without forcing small-storage devices to mirror all of it. Turning off sync on the iPhone isn't a real workaround, because it splits the history into separate per-device copies.
