Help shape the future of Paste

Hello, I use paste extensively for work, where syncing to iCloud is not allowed. Even allowed, I wouldn't necessarily enable it due to myself using paste app on my personal devices under the same iCloud account. Hence requesting a feature to export the paste history to a file of any format that would allow an import on a new machine. We do need to change laptops every so often in a coporate setting :) . Alternatively, having different workspaces which I can allocate devices to or select on demand will also work, when iCloud sync is allowed. Thanks

It would be a nice feature to have rule based pinboards. Some standard stuff for the beginning like raw texts, images, links etc. Then maybe some more detailed stuff like color codes, RegEx. Example: designers copy and paste color codes daily many times. For such workflow, Paste could automatically copy the color codes inside a pinboard of choice. Or links from a specific website. Or images. Or RegEx based ruling. Possibilities are countless if such rule-based algorithm could be implemented. I'm not sure about the technical difficulties or required effort. I already love the Paste the way it is because it works seamlessly in my iOS/MacOS workflow. But rules could make my workflow even more seamless by getting rid of the hassle of categorising manually. Yes, there is a search function which I use pretty much all the time but sometimes I see something that I just to save to a pinboard just by copying or do not forget something I copied in my iPhone for future references. Color codes are an example of this.

Hi team, I have moved from Mac to Windows and find out that there are many clipboard managers but nothing even close to quality of your product. Any chance that Windows version will be released some day? Would happily pay for a such product.

Would like to see better security features such as Face ID to open up app with thank you

A trash bin would be useful in case of accidental deletions!

I'd like to able to keep the Paste drawer open temporarily with a pin toggle (by "drawer", I mean, on Mac, bottom-of-screen history pane triggered bt Cmd+Shift+C). I don't always remember (or know) that I'll need to paste multiple items when I copy the first item, so Paste Stack doesn't solve for this.

I'd like to be able to search within the iOS keyboard App.

I think I am in love with paste stack. 1.please create a mode where paste stack is always showing even when you empty the stack. 2. make it somewhat transparent. 3. changing the order of the elements is not working for me. 4. some resizing or control of how it looks will be nice Great app you got there.

- Set capacity for gigabytes like 5gb/10gb/15gb, not only week/month/year - Set history capacity for file extensions (for instance, remove all images and videos for week, zip files for 1 day, other for default set)

When using a large monitor, it is troublesome to go to the bottom of the screen whenever I need to use Paste. It would be great to have the ability to place the default position of the ribbon along any other edge of the screen.

Sometimes it is very convenient to look at an item's next to the one you are looking for, it would be great to be able to go from the search to the segment of history where this item is located

Hi! Please add more color options and the option to color by HEX codes. Thanks!

I would like to exclude possible sensitive content like in different Pinboards from being synced to the cloud. Idea: I could choose which pinboards to exclude to sync.

Paste seems to keep files in it's cache. Ideally it would be good if we can selective delete files that are a certain size.

As paste is avaliable on iOS and MacOS, but I unfortunately have a Windows PC, and if there's no Windows app avaliable, I would wish at least it would have a web app.

I frequently have to screenshare my entire desktop at work. I would like to be able to have the Paste preview window pinned to my secondary display so that it does not show during screenshares

Can you add a setting to allow less than 24 hours of history capacity? I would like to set mine to delete history after 2 hours. Would be great to have a 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hour, 4 hour, 6 hour, and 12 hour history capacity. Thanks for considering!

Please let us change (or disable) the Pause shortcut. I pause Paste by mistake quite often since it's the same shortcut to open a new tab in multiple apps. Thank you!

I love how Paste has Siri Shortcuts supported, what I would also wish is the ablity to support having REST APIs.

Some basic text transformation (uppercase etc) as well as a cleaning URL function would make a great addition!

There are quite some people using Apple OS hardware combined wiith Google OS hardware. As a starting point it would be nixe to use Paste on my moto razr22 with android next to my macbook pro and ipad 10 :-). Android is also pretty big, next to that ChromOS starts taking over maket share rapidly as well.: Android: Android continues to reign in the operating system market worldwide, with a 71.95% market share in Q1 2023. Android: Android generated its highest-ever share with 75.47% and shipped 1.33 billion Android devices with 87.49% smartphone sales in 2019.

I propose a feature to automatically strip tracking data from copied URLs; most sites when you copy a URL include a ton of tracking data in them, often in the form of a series of "utm_" parameters. I often manually remove these when sharing these URLs. Similarly, Google links when copied from search results are wrapped in "amp" I absolutely love Paste. A feature I'd really appreciate would be to strip tracking data from copied links .. i.e. here's a redfin link from a random email: https://www.redfin.com/MD/Bethesda/5801-Lenox-Rd-20817/home/10668331?utm_source=myredfin&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=instant_listings_update&riftinfo=xxyyzz I'd like to auto strip everything after the ?. A related feature would be to auto-de-amp google links. I.e. change https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.blueowl.us/blogs/news/the-lacing-guide-4-ways-to-lace-your-boots&ved=2ahUKEwiRzYe4gpWGAxVgD1kFHYMmCtsQFnoECBsQAQ&usg=AOvVaw0B8rvgW_zK4WyCvTbaIwH_ to just what's in the "url" parameter.

Hello! Long-time Paste subscriber via SetApp, I really love Paste and it's seamless integration with macOS and synchronization via iCloud. One feature I would really love to see is the addition of some sort of API endpoint, or other functionality, that would allow me to add clipboard items from clipboard managers on other operating systems (to be specific, I'm using CopyQ on Windows, which should make this a possibility). Ideally, there could also be an API endpoint that would allow one to query the items on the Paste clipboard history, but I suspect that could potentially be costly to implement.

I would love to be able to automate usage of paste with an Alfred workflow, and a CLI would make it much easier to create.

Option to paste all items in your paste stack, with a 'return' keystroke after each. So if you're in google docs with a bulleted list and used this option, each item in your paste stack would get its own bullet.

i use an external keyboard a lot and unless i'm dumb i can't access paste from it. it's annoying or impossible to use the software keyboard with the external one connected/active.

Two requests when it comes to deleting content. 1) Have an option to delete all content but what is in pinboards. 2) if you accidentally hit Delete on something that is pinned, cofirm that is what you wanted. Otherwise it's just too easy to hurry through and clean things up, only to realize that you've deleted saved content.

I like the keep the menu bar icon, but the animation upon copyin is quite distracting. I'd love to see a way to disable just the animation. Thanks!

Hey. Please add the option to assign custom shortcuts to specific copied items in order to paste them anywhere at any moment using a shortcut.

I use an app called clean text to do this now but would be handy if this functionality was built in. Hopefully it makes sense based on the screenshot. Thanks

It's nice that you have the iOS14 widgets, but it's time to make them interactive as iOS17 allowed for this feature. The plus button on your current widget shouldn't open the app.

Often I know what day I worked with something and want to return to then to check items that were copied. However, when scrolling further back it becomes more and more ambiguous as to when the item was copied. It seems to go: minutes -> hours -> days -> weeks -> months I'd be fine with that but if I could hover and see date and time that would be very helpful. (been using your app since the start, great product!)

I have a stored folder of 'prompts' I use reguarly with various AI tools. Generally they require me to also paste in another value, such as a specific line of code, of section of text. It would be cool to be able to assign a variable to these stored pastes or 'prompts' that are dynamically called from the most recent copy or paste stack. Integrating with the stack would be nice. Overall, you guys should focus like hell on new user behaviours generated from the AI bots.

Ability to select multiple copy items and then merge into one. Merge in order selected. Or allow sorting to arrange then merge.

I use another another keyboard app called "copy em" and i like how they have a list view, but I really wish this Paste keyboard extension would have a list view and not just horizontal left and right.

For text (for example) copied from a website, it would be helpful to be able to see at a glance the website/URL from which it was copied.

Regular old pasting brings everything, fonts, formatting, links, and so on. Pasting as plain text brings none of this. But sometimes what I really want is something in between that preserves links and formatting (bold, italic, etc.) but does not carry fonts with it. Mainly this is when pasting text that includes links, but not wanting to have all the font baggage that comes with the regular old paste. Thus, having some way to paste without fonts, but with everything else, would be helpful.

Details are as in the title. While not essential as opposed to a basic feature, I personally find the current typewriter (or whatever it is)-like copying sound to be somewhat off-putting, as it tends to ring in my ears. It would be nice to be able to select other menus to eliminate this problem. It would also be nice to be able to set an optional file.

I would love to be able to point Paste to a specific folder (namely my Screenshots folder, but could have other uses) and have a Pinboard showing all files sorted by recency. The visual nature of Paste makes it perfect for accessing screenshots! This could currently be acheived with a combination of something like Hazel and Shortcuts (when a new file is added to the watched folder, run a Shortcut adding the file to a specified clipboard) but that's not very elegant.

Hello support I work in IT and sometime, it's not possible to copy and paste information to a remote computer system. It would be extremly useful to have the option to paste the clipboard to the keyboard. This would allow me to have a password typed up by Paste in the remote session. Thank you

I use this app all the time on my iOS and macOS devices, but I also often have to exchange information between a Windows PC and these other devices. There is no other application on the market that I have seen that does this. Yours would be the first and I would buy it immediately.

I built a small collection of IDs used in my project. I would like to share these items (or the whole collection) with team members, so they could import it with ease. Maybe even automatically sync it.

Unfortunately when a 6-digit number is copied it gets automatically recognized as a color, which is fine, but there is no option to transform it to a 'text' Paste or edit such entry at all. In my case it wasn't supposed to be a hex color but instead just a 6-digit number (without the # part), and definitely in plain text.

There's an option in paste to "ignore passwords and other confidential data if detected" on the Rules tab of the preferences pane. Can you please update the app to ignore private keys? You can generate example private keys with a tool like https://cryptotools.net/rsagen. Encrypted private keys should also be ignored. Thanks!!

I've been using Alfred for a long time. With that tool i could use the short "Paste" (command/Shift/V) and then "02" to have a category of items to paste. Today I try to replace Alfred with Paste. It would be great to use the same way. Example : Short cut Paste (Command/Shift/V) + 02 to have my Pinboard selected and then choose my item to paste. Possible ?

Right now, only Safari works if you receive a code in Mac's messages app. Why not add this to Paste, so if I got a new message (unread), and it has a sequence of numbers, put it in the paste stack automatically. This will open 2FA up to all applications, and in particular Chrome!

Title says it all. If a clip is pinned, it should show before all the other results. I've got things that are pinned but I can't find them because they don't show up in the first page of search results.

Pretty much the title. Like many users, I've become a huge fan of the Paste Stack feature for its convenience and functionality. However, one aspect that could significantly enhance its usability is the ability to reorder items within the Paste Stack. Introducing a drag-and-drop mechanism, possibly through a dedicated handle similar to those found in some SwiftUI interfaces, would provide users with much-needed control over their clipboard items. This improvement would refine the existing functionality of Paste Stack, making it even more versatile and user-friendly.

Add the ability to never save paste history if copied text includes certain words/strings/etc. Regex matching would be nice, but words/strings is a good start. (Good for excluding sensitive data like AWS secrets, Access Tokens, etc with known prefixes.)

It would be amazing to have a widget for the Dynamic Island on iOS allowing users to quickly save things into one's clipboard.
