Paste

Edit and label items

Paste lets you edit any item before you reuse it, directly from your clipboard history or pinboards.

To edit an item, select it and press Command-E, or choose “Edit” from its context menu. Text can be adjusted, cleaned up, or rewritten before pasting, and your changes are saved to the item in place — its formatting is kept. On devices with Apple Intelligence, Writing Tools appear while you edit, so you can refine or rewrite text without leaving Paste. For images, you can use quick actions such as rotating, or extract text from an image directly in the preview.

To rename an item — a handy way to label it so it's easy to find later — select it and press Command-R, choose “Rename” from the context menu, or click the item's title and type a new one. If you want to remove formatting when pasting, see Paste as Plain Text.
