Search and filters
Paste lets you quickly find anything you’ve copied, even long after it left the clipboard. With powerful filters and instant results, it helps you get back to what you need without interrupting your flow.
Everything you copy — including text, links, images, and files — is automatically saved and made searchable.
Searching your clipboard history
Paste indexes everything you copy and keeps it ready to find. As soon as you start typing, results update instantly, making it easy to narrow things down as you go.
On Mac, you can open Paste and start typing right away, or press ⌘-F to focus the search field. On iPhone and iPad, search is available from the main screen.
Find faster with filters
Filters are at the core of finding things in Paste. As you type, relevant filters appear directly in the search field, helping you refine results naturally.

You can also view all available filters at any time by clicking the filter button. Filters let you narrow results by where an item was copied from, what type of content it is, when it was copied, or which device it came from.
Active filters are always visible in the search field, making it easy to adjust your query as you go.
Search inside images
Paste also recognizes text inside images. This makes it possible to search for words inside screenshots of conversations or documents, photos of notes or whiteboards, and scanned or captured text.
Matching text inside images is highlighted in results, making it easy to spot exactly what you’re looking for.
Using search in everyday work
Search in Paste is designed to stay out of your way while helping you move faster. You can find a link by typing part of its title and letting filters narrow the results, locate a code snippet by filtering to the app it came from, or bring back a screenshot by searching for text visible inside the image itself.
When you roughly remember when something was copied, adding a date filter can quickly bring it back into view. Starting broad and refining as you go is often the fastest approach. Filters are always visible and easy to combine, so you can narrow results in just a few steps and get back to your work without losing focus.
