Uninstall Paste
To uninstall Paste, quit it first, then remove the app the way you remove any other app on that device. The steps differ a little between Mac and iPhone or iPad, and deleting your iCloud copy is a separate, optional step.
Uninstall on Mac
Paste runs in the background on your Mac, so you need to quit it before you can move it to the Trash. If you try to remove it while it is still running, macOS won’t let the file go.
-
Right-click the P icon in the menu bar and choose Quit.
-
Once Paste has quit, remove the app like any other Mac app — drag Paste from your Applications folder to the Trash, then empty the Trash.
If you plan to reinstall or want to clear Paste’s local data on the Mac, see where Paste stores your data.
“You must quit Paste first”
This message appears when you try to remove or replace Paste while it is still running in the background. Quit it first, then move the app to the Trash. If the menu-bar icon isn’t responding, see Paste crashes or won’t launch.
Uninstall on iPhone or iPad
You remove Paste the same way you remove any other app:
-
Touch and hold the Paste icon on your Home Screen.
-
Choose Remove App.
-
Choose Delete App, then confirm by choosing Delete.
Deleting Paste on iPhone or iPad removes its local data on that device. If you had sync on, the same content is still in your iCloud and can be re-downloaded the next time you install Paste and sign in.
Delete Paste’s iCloud copy
Uninstalling the app doesn’t remove the copy of your data that lives in your iCloud. To delete that as well, go to System Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Manage → Paste → Delete from iCloud on your Mac.
